AMRIX® (Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules) is a prescription medicine to be used along with rest and physical therapy to help control muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. AMRIX should only be taken for short periods (up to two or three weeks). It should be taken at about the same time each day.

Certain medicines may cause serious or potentially life-threatening consequences when taken in combination with AMRIX, so tell your doctor if you are taking any medicines.

You should not use AMRIX if you:

  • Are sensitive to any of its ingredients
  • Are taking certain antidepressants, such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
  • Are 65 years old or older
  • Have liver problems
  • Have certain types of heart problems
  • Have an overactive thyroid

Before taking AMRIX, talk to your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including any history of heart problems, urinary problems, or glaucoma.

AMRIX may affect your ability to perform certain hazardous tasks, such as operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle, especially when used with alcohol or other sedatives.
